Journey in therapy:
When I first came to see Dawn, I was carrying a very heavy load in my life. This included dealing with anxiety, depression, unhealthy family relationships and past trauma and abuse. In Dawn, I found a therapist who not only was extremely skilled in what she did, but who also cared deeply about me and my life struggles. After two years of therapy, I can honestly say that my life has improved in dramatic ways. I now know how to trust myself, to have healthy relationships and protect myself, and to deal with the things that life throws my way. I am a better wife and mom after getting help. I will always be grateful that I took this journey and that I was blessed to have Dawn as my therapist. EMDR: When I began EMDR therapy, past trauma that I had experienced was present with me every day. It affected the way that I reacted to and perceived things. By participating in EMDR therapy, I was able to revisit these experiences and process them in a supportive and caring environment at my own pace. In doing this, I was able to find healing and understanding in what I had experienced. I was amazed at how quickly the healing took place! I can now look back on these incidents and not experience the overwhelming emotions and reactions that they once created. I am very grateful for the powerful effects that EMDR had in my life and would recommend it to anyone dealing traumatic experiences from their past. -Anonymous
